Ikeem Allen (DT/OL) Mallard Creek: Senior #72

Image

Ikeem Allen attends Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, North Carolina and has been on the Varsity football team his whole High School career. He said he has been playing all of his life because it kept him out of trouble in school. His love to play football helps him keep a great GPA. He verbally committed to Ball State, but is also receiving interest from Georgia Tech and North Carolina at Chappel-Hill. He is a three sport athlete. He wrestles and is 3rd in the State in his weight class and has received a scholarship from Navy. He also does track and field where he participates in the 200, 4×1, shot-put and disk. Western Carolina has offered him a scholarship in that regard as well. During our interview I asked him why he wore the number “72” he said that was the age his grandmother passed away and ever since then he has not only played for himself he has played in her honor to make her proud because he knows she is watching over him. Ikeem made 11.5 sacks last year and is a force to be reckoned with for any offensive lineman. If you don’t believe me just watch his dominance throughout this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBC7CuWN4Ww). The two NFL players he aspires to be as dominant and influential as are Ndamukong Suh and Ray Lewis. His goals for Mallard Creek’s football team (21st in the country and 1st in the State) this season is to win the State Championship. His favorite inspirational quote is “you play the game fast, physical, and pissed off.
